Summary: The School Operations Manager (SOM) leads classroom and curricular staff, sets goals, and ensures students work toward their learning objectives. The SOM will serve as the school’s administrator and participate in IEP meetings, handle disciplinary matters, and participate in the process of hiring and evaluating classroom and curricular staff. The SOM will not be solely confined to an office, but will be expected to hands-on working in each classroom.

Reports to:                              Waadookodaading Executive Director

Supervises:                              Waadookodaading Instructional Staff

Terms of Employment:           In accordance with Master Agreement and Board Policy Compensation:  $68,500 – $76,000 DQ

Hours:                                     7:45am-3:45pm Monday-Friday, 52 weeks

Qualifications:
1.      Valid WI teaching license and 5+ years of classroom experience or preferred valid WI administrators license.

2.      Experience working with K-12 students.

3.      Must be able to work with others, lead meetings and trainings.

4.      Ability to use Ojibwe language to interact with Waadookodaading students and staff.

5.      Proficiency with computers and other classroom technology, including student information management systems.

6.      Dedication to revitalization of Ojibwe language through Indigenous language medium education.

Performance Responsibilities:
1.      Observe and evaluate classroom and curricular staff in accordance with approved assessment instruments.

2.      Assist teachers regarding education and implementation of classroom instructional strategies, curriculum development, assessments, and classroom management.

3.      Work collaboratively with administrative staff to develop professional development opportunities consistent with classroom needs.

4.      Assist classroom staff with student behavior.

5.      Data input in regards to student and attendance/behavior.

6.      Attend IEP meetings and assist classroom staff in the implementation of modifications and accommodations.

7.      Participate on the hiring committee for all classroom and curricular staff.

8.      Leading instructional staff meetings.

9.      Compile, distribute and communicate school year scheduling to appropriate staff.

10.  Assist in developing and revising policies and procedures in collaboration with the administrative management team.

11.  Make regular reports to the Executive Director regarding staff and student success and needs.

12.  Guide instructional staff to create Professional Development Plans.

13.  Ensure training objectives for specified grants are met.

14.  Ensure appropriate teaching licensure is obtained by instructional staff.

15.  Perform other duties as assigned.
