ACCESS admits highly capable students who perform at the 99th percentile on nationally normed tests for aptitude and/or achievement in any or all of the following areas: reading, math, or general intellect. The program is suitable for students who have exceeded all or most benchmarks.
We seek a 7th/8th Grade Science teacher for advanced curriculum for the 22/23 school year. You will still be eligible for full benefits as well as some other perks. This job is temporary because it is a year-long assignment covering the current teacher while they are on an Einstein fellowship. The teacher you are covering is a founder of the program and will serve as a mentor; they have systems set up for fairs, etc. You also get to work in a cool, big classroom!

The classroom teacher performs under supervision of a principal or other designated supervisor and has major responsibility for the instruction and supervision of students. Instruction of students shall include individual skill development, expansion of knowledge, and development of ability to reason. Supervision of students shall include guidance, development and safety. The classroom teacher functions in accordance with the established policies, rules, regulations and the performance standards of the District/State and the performance goals established for the teacher.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT: Must hold a teaching license issued by the Teacher Standards & Practices Commission (TSPC)
A TSPC License is required with endorsements in the following areas, but PPS may be willing to accept a candidate with ONE of the following, if the candidate is willing to work towards adding an endorsement/ obtaining a License for Conditional Assignment. Social Studies Language Arts
COMPENSATION: $50,020 TO $97,333 (Annual salary based on 1.0 FTE)
