6-12 MATH INTERVENTION TEACHER

POSITION: 6-12 MATH INTERVENTION TEACHER

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

●     Directly responsible to the Director of Special Education and Elementary Principal

●     Knowledge of math strategies in content areas and instructional strategies to improve math skills through coaching, co-teaching and          collaborative work with teachers.

●     Ability to attend training and prep time to self-motivate to learn and implement tier 3 interventions

●     Must have a strong commitment to improving student math skills.

●     Ability to support classroom teachers to provide instruction to allow students success in core math.

●     Knowledge of tier 2 interventions and monitoring implementation in the classroom through teacher collaboration

●    Responsible for facilitating a tier 3 math intervention component for K-5 including student scheduling

●    Responsible for weekly progress monitoring students using tools provided

●     Monitor and intermittently assess students for placement in and dismissal from tier 3 intervention

●     Assists in school events such as, but not limited to; assemblies, powwows, student awards programs, graduation

●     other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a Wisconsin DPI license or willing to work toward licensure/ Math Teacher license preferred.
● Ability to work using a team approach with regular education and intervention staff.
● Experience in teaching Native American youth preferred.
● Must be supportive of the philosophy, concept, policy and procedures of the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe School-Waadookodaading.
● Native American preference in employment.
