As a President ES-1701-00, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Developing systems and providing executive oversight of procedures and processes related to financial management, budget management, contract and grant administration and real/property management.
Building and providing oversight of state-of-the-art education systems and technology to automate records, bringing new technologies to classrooms.
Ensuring appropriate policies and procedures, standards and systems are in place for efficient and effective facilities management and construction, environmental safety and student and faculty safety at schools.
Implementing effective communications and utilization of social medial to reach parents, students, faculty and other interested education partners.
Establishes accountability and transparency for all administrative program areas; reviews, monitors and evaluates the administrative support programs for operational effectiveness, compliance with applicable laws and regulations and attainment of goals/objectives.

BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
A. Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the positions
B. Combination of education and experience –courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in A above..
As a basic requirement for entry into the SES, applicants must provide evidence of progressively responsible executive leadership and supervisory experience that is indicative of senior executive level management capability and directly related to the skills and abilities outlined under Executive Core Qualifications and Technical Qualifications listed above. The ideal candidate will have experience supervising employees through subordinate supervisors and have experience hiring, developing, and evaluating employees. Typically, experience of this nature will have been gained at or above the GS-14/15 grade level in the federal service or its equivalent in the private sector or non-governmental organizations. Failure to meet this basic qualification requirement and all executive and technical qualification factors automatically disqualifies an applicant.
Applicants who meet all the mandatory executive and technical qualifications will be evaluated by a panel of SES members to determine the degree to which they possess each of the listed qualifications. This evaluation will determine which applicants are best qualified. Total background, including experience, education, awards, self-development, and training will be reviewed.
