Bismarck Public Schools is continuing to accept applications for Kindergarten-5th grade teachers for the 2023-2024 school year.


Interviews will begin this spring and will continue through summer.   This posting will remain open until filled.


Applicants for teaching positions will be asked to complete the EPI Candidate Assessment.  You should receive an email prompting you to complete this survey.  This is timed and takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete.  You only need to complete the survey one time and then it will show as completed on all applications.

Principals will select from this pool of applications to interview for their specific Kindergarten openings.



Valid North Dakota teaching license or the ability to obtain a license by the start of school.
Must be qualified to teach Kindergarten.
This posting is for external teaching applicants (this also includes current BPS employees in support staff/temporary/substitute positions).  Current contracted part-time BPS teachers wanting a full-time position should also complete the external application.

A teaching contract is 187 days.  The school year begins in August with a teacher work day followed by staff development days.


External applicants are allowed to bring in up to 12 years of K – 12 teaching experience.


New Teacher Orientation for all teachers new to BPS will be August 8-11th.
