Summary

The Research Project Leader will join AIHEC’s Research Team to support the organization’s research efforts with the goal of strengthening tribal colleges and universities and indigenous student education outcomes. This position will strengthen, enhance and support AIHEC’s research projects.

Essential Functions

· Work with AIHEC‘s research team to collect data through determined techniques and procedures,

structured interviews, or other project specific methodology

· Conducts, assists, and records face-to-face interviews and focus groups with subjects, in accordance with predetermined interview protocol, data collection procedures, and documentation standards

· Draft research business practices for potential future partnerships

· Adept at literature searches, data analysis and generating annotated bibliographies

· Analyze and synthesize data

· Participates in development or research projects

· Prepare materials for submission to granting agencies and foundations

· Coordinates report distribution, and tracks team measurables

· Schedules/coordinates meetings and follows through on action items

· Generates ideas for new content types based on research findings

· Keep up-to-date knowledge of the industry and related topics

· Other duties as assigned

Required Education, Experience and Attributes (minimum requirements):

· Must hold a Master’s focused on a social science research discipline

· Demonstrated proficiency with generating annotated bibliographies and literature reviews

· Demonstrated competence in conducting and analyzing qualitative and quantative data.

· Extensive experience arranging/conducting interviews and focus groups as appropriate to the study, and recording research data in accordance with specified protocol and procedures

· Significant experience working with Native communities or tribal colleges and universities and knowledge of higher education issues, as well as issues regarding research in American Indian/Alaskan Native (AI/AN) or other Indigenous communities and tribal nations

· Ability to successfully work both independently and collaboratively, and participate in consensus building and group facilitation processes

· Strong oral and written communication skills essential

· Multitasking capacity with keen attention to detail and clear ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

· Demonstrated proficiency in using software such as Excel, Teams, Zoom, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word

· Human Subjects Certification will be required before research with human subjects may begin
