About the Company

Located near Tama, Iowa. The Meskwaki Settlement School (MSS) has an enrollment of 300-350 Native American students from Early Childhood through 12th grade. MSS is a tribally-controlled school, operating under the auspices of the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE). Our mission at MSS is to prepare students to be responsible, independent life-long learners, preserving the language and culture of the Meskwaki Tribe. By working together in a safe environment students will grow culturally, intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially. All teachers, paraeducators, and administrators are certified by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners (BOEE). MSS is governed by a School Board, which reports to the Meskwaki Tribal Council. We have an interscholastic activities program and belong to the Iowa Star Conference.
